HIGH-FIVING WIRELESS ROBOT

Description

As the final project for my electromechanical systems class, my partner and I created a wirelessly-driven robot that could operate an elevator and navigate to the dean of mechanical engineering to give him a high-five!

My Role

  • Led Raspberry Pi software development 

  • Created a simple webpage that operated the robot

  • Collaborated with my partner to develop the mechanical design of the robot

Overview

The base of my robot was a GoPiGo3 Raspberry Pi Robot Car which I used previously. Then in Python, I integrated the GoPiGo controls with Flask and created a web interface using HTML so that I could drive the robot from my phone or laptop. Lastly, my partner and I built structures onto the robot so that it was tall enough to high-five someone and had a mechanism that could push the elevator button. See a video of the robot below!
